The lower 1/16 Mahogany Ply was block planed flush with the leading edge. You need a darn sharp plane for this, due to the T-88 that oozed out of the join.
The upper skin is a little more difficult! How I decided to do this was first glue the skin to the leading edge only. I stapled the skin on using a small strip of scrap as a buffer.
After curing, the scrap can be levered off, leaving the staples proud - this gave me plenty of leverage to remove them using pliers and a thin sheet of metal to avoid marring the skin.
