Drag wires hi-lighting the over and under clearance needed...

Finished tip bow showing the filler used for feathering-in...

The drag/anti drag wires have now been threaded and placed in situ. I acquired some PVC pipe to slip over the lower wires at the cross-overs points, and then wrapped a small cable tie around this point. This is to stop any future vibration. All nuts have been fitted, although nothing is trammeled at this point.

The tip bow seemed to go on well. The only trouble I had was visualizing how the tips of the spars merged into the bow. I decided to feather-in at this point. The filler I used was by Poly Fibre and is extremely light. I now have to focus on what I am going to do about the styro-foamed filled corners...

I may fit nav lights in the wing tips. This plane will never 'intentionally' be flown at night, but one never knows ie. I could be leaving at the crack of dawn, or it could be dusk, and I am 10 minutes late at my destination due to strong headwinds and the night is closing in...

Whenever possible while working, I have always layed the wing flat, on blocks, to ensure and check for flatness. There has been certain stages where laying flat was'nt possible. After fitting the tip bow, I decided to take everything off the bench, check the level / flatness of the bench, and then scrutinize the flatness of the wing, looking for uneveness. I did find that pressing on one corner of the wing produced a 1/64 bounce in the opposite corner. I suppose a 1/64 gap isn't bad over a 10ft+ span...

I will be forming my own ply leading edges. More on this subject after I've bought the material...

A weight on one corner - to get rid of the 1/64 gap...
